Dune: Awakening Back Online After Scheduled Maintenance – What’s New
After a short downtime, Dune: Awakening is back online following the release of patch 1.1.0.13. This update primarily addresses backend changes aimed at improving both client and server stability, ensuring a smoother experience for players. The servers had been temporarily taken offline for maintenance earlier today, but now, the game is fully operational once again. Players can expect some minor bug fixes as well, though the patch details don’t dive deep into these updates. If you haven’t noticed the patch, Funcom recommends restarting your Steam client to ensure you’re up to date.
The update comes as the game experiences an influx of new players. While Head Starters have been exploring the desert planet Arrakis since June 5, the official launch for all players occurred on June 10. Just hours after the global launch, the survival MMO saw an impressive 142,050 concurrent players on Steam, proving that Dune: Awakening has quickly captured the attention of fans worldwide.
However, there’s some unfortunate news for console players: Funcom has confirmed that the console version of the game won’t be available until sometime in 2026. For now, the game remains exclusive to PC. In the meantime, players have been discovering a surprising feature: a way to ride sandworms, despite this not being an officially supported gameplay mechanic.

Console players got the short end of the stick with the 2026 release date, but the PC version is solid for now
