Funcom has rolled out Patch 1.1.15.0 for Dune: Awakening, bringing important upgrades to the PvE experience in the Deep Desert, along with a batch of bug fixes and stability improvements.
This latest update gives solo players more incentive to brave the sands without engaging in PvP combat.
The highlight of the patch is the addition of tier 6 resources to PvE zones in the Deep Desert. Previously, players had to venture into PvP territory to access the highest-tier materials, creating a barrier for those preferring non-competitive gameplay. While PvP areas still offer higher resource density, PvE players can now grind for endgame gear in relative peace.
Other tweaks include a reversal of earlier resource nerfs: medium spice field spawns have been increased back to 8 from 5, and small spice field spawns now total 30, up from 22. These adjustments aim to make the PvE grind more rewarding and less frustrating.
On the technical side, a number of annoying bugs have been addressed. Notably, Funcom has fixed issues with contracts that couldn’t be completed and a frustrating bug where full inventories caused players to miss out on their hard-earned rewards. Now, contract rewards will only be delivered if there’s enough inventory space, avoiding the loss entirely.
As expected, not all changes will take effect immediately-some require scheduled server downtime. Funcom hasn’t specified which updates need this, so players are advised to wait until maintenance wraps up before expecting the full effect.
The addition of PvE zones to the Deep Desert has divided the community. Some players argue that PvP-only areas better capture the harsh survival spirit of Dune, while others welcome the opportunity to play endgame content without constant threat. Despite differing opinions, Funcom seems committed to walking the tightrope between satisfying both sides of the player base.
