Dune: Awakening has rolled out a fresh update that brings some exciting tweaks to both PvE and PvP activities.
The endgame experience has been significantly enhanced, offering PvE enthusiasts the opportunity to farm Tier 6 resources more easily and a higher chance of snagging Unique drops in the Deep Desert’s loot pools.
In a prior update, Funcom expanded the PvE zone in the Deep Desert from a mere 10% of the map to a whopping 50%. This change came after an AMA where the developers acknowledged player frustration with the endgame, particularly regarding PvP interactions. They reassured players that they were “formulating a plan” to improve the PvP experience in the Deep Desert. Many had labeled the endgame as “toxic” due to griefing, especially after the initial patch intended to remove the ability for players to squash each other with their Ornithopters. Unfortunately, griefers still found ways to sabotage others by intentionally landing their Ornis on opponents’ thopters, preventing them from farming.
The last major update (1.1.10.00) focused on quality-of-life improvements but did not address the endgame issues directly. However, this time, a large section of the patch notes targets the Deep Desert, endgame, and the Landsraad activities.
One of the most notable changes in this update is the increased availability of Tier 6 resources in PvE areas of the Deep Desert. Previously, finding T6 minerals was a tough task unless players ventured into high-risk PvP zones. This new tweak allows players to gather essential resources without the constant threat of player-versus-player conflict, making farming much safer.
But PvP fans need not worry, as the update brings some adjustments for them too. A key change is the extension of the delay for leaving a PvP security zone-from 5 seconds to 30 seconds. This change is designed to reduce border camping, allowing players to better protect their territories.
