During the Summer Game Fest 2025, Polish developer Techland confirmed the release date of Dying Light: The Beast, set for August 22. The game, available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X, started as a second expansion for Dying Light 2 but evolved into a standalone experience, mainly due to a leak in 2023. This spin-off, first revealed during Gamescom 2024, brings back the iconic protagonist Kyle Crane, voiced once again by Roger Craig Smith. Crane has undergone thirteen years of experiments, making him far stronger and more dangerous. Players can expect brutal combat as Crane’s rage-driven, beast-like powers wreak havoc, including skull-crushing and dismembering enemies.

As with previous entries, day and night bring different challenges.

During the day, players will explore and scavenge, while nightfall summons powerful zombies, forcing you to choose whether to fight, run, or hide. First-person parkour returns, alongside vehicles – an element inspired by the Dying Light expansion The Following. The game is set in the Castor Woods valley, a region inspired by the Swiss Alps, and features diverse biomes, such as a tourist town, industrial zones, national parks, farm fields, and swamps.

Dying Light: The Beast offers a fully playable four-player co-op mode with shared progression. Pre-orders, priced at $59.99, come with the Harran Bundle, which includes exclusive in-game items: the Ultimate Survivor Outfit, the Harran Combat Knife, the Follower Crossbow, Jade’s Memory Pistol, and the Castor Woods Patrol. Players who own the Dying Light 2: Ultimate Edition will receive the game and the Harran Bundle for free. This edition was originally meant to include a second Dying Light 2 DLC, making the new title an exciting bonus for those who invested in the ultimate experience.
