How to Turn Libra’s Demonic Deal Into a Bargain in Elden Ring Nightreign

Elden Ring Nightreign players are still uncovering secrets a month after its release, and one of the latest discoveries offers a way to exploit a demonic merchant’s deal, turning it into a bargain-if you can pay the price. If you’ve progressed far enough in the game, you’ve likely encountered Libra, a Nightlord demon who’s known for offering a tempting bargain. These deals often come with downsides, which players usually have to weigh carefully. Sometimes, the price isn’t worth it, but in some cases, it is.

Libra appears as an end-game boss but can also spawn randomly during other Nightlord battles.

Similar to other world events, when Libra appears, a purple fog surrounds the area, and you’ll get a notification saying that a demon has cursed you. This curse also blocks off a portion of your max health, which can be seen in the upper-left corner of the screen. To lift the curse, you usually need to pay Libra either 15,000 or 35,000 runes, depending on the day.

Once the curse is removed, you also gain a buff, but one Reddit user discovered that if you interact with Libra again after paying the curse, you can get a free buff without the usual downsides. As the user explained, ‘For 15k/35k runes, you can get any of the available merchant buffs by talking to Libra again without any of the downsides.’ The buffs you can receive might include things like extra flasks or stat boosts, but typically at the cost of something like lowered health or temporary stat debuffs.

However, in this specific case, you can get these buffs without the usual drawbacks, essentially making Libra’s Faustian bargain just a regular deal. Sure, it still costs 15,000 or 35,000 runes, but given the potential benefits, it may be worth it-especially since you’re already paying to heal yourself. It’s a win-win situation, but only if you can get Libra to curse you in the first place. If you find him somewhere in the world without the curse, you won’t be able to access this special interaction, so timing is everything. Also, if you choose to attack Libra, this trick won’t work, so make sure you and your team are on the same page when dealing with this demon.

This method may be niche, but it could give you the upper hand against the Nightlords of Elden Ring Nightreign. If you’re feeling lucky, you can even try rolling for the right seed to spawn Libra’s event and see if the power is worth the cost.
