Explore One UI 7: New Animations & Camera Design Video

Hands-On with Samsung’s One UI 7.0: A Preview of What’s to Come

At the recent Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2024, we got an exclusive sneak peek into Samsung’s upcoming One UI 7.0, even though it wasn’t officially showcased at the event. Our early hands-on experience with One UI 7.0, captured in a series of detailed videos, highlights significant upgrades in animations, transitions, and user interface designs.

Enhanced Animations and Transitions in One UI 7.0

Rumors about One UI 7.0 introducing improved animations and transitions have been confirmed. Our hands-on time revealed that animations now boast greater bounce and fluidity compared to its predecessor, One UI 6.1.1. This update includes smoother transitions enhanced by stronger background blur effects visible in elements like the app drawer, notifications pane, quick settings panel, and the multitasking menu (Task Switcher). The Task Switcher in One UI 7.0 features a slightly stacked style, diverging from the simpler design in One UI 6.1.1, with changes in app card spacing and the absence of a search button on the multitasking screen.

Revamped Camera App for One-Handed Ease

One UI 7.0 also brings significant changes to the stock camera app’s design, aiming to improve one-handed usability. The updated UI places key controls, including the camera mode switcher, zoom options, and access to settings like Aspect Ratio, Exposure, and ISO, at the bottom of the screen. This is a shift from previous designs seen up to One UI 6.1.1, where controls were positioned at the top. An innovative icon with four circles now triggers camera settings pertinent to the selected mode, providing a more intuitive user experience. However, it’s important to note that this design, previewed on a Galaxy S24 Ultra running an early build, is subject to change as Samsung finalizes One UI 7.0.

Launch Timeline for One UI 7.0

Samsung has announced plans to initiate the One UI 7.0 Beta Program before the end of this year, targeting both developers and potentially consumers. The stable release is projected to coincide with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, expected in mid-January 2025. As anticipation builds, users are eager to experience these interface enhancements firsthand when the beta becomes available.

Stay tuned for further updates and videos as we continue to explore the evolving landscape of One UI 7.0. We hope for an official release of the beta version soon, bringing us closer to Samsung’s refined user interface experience.
