As fans of Daredevil: Born Again eagerly await the next season of the Disney+ series, speculation about the return of Foggy Nelson (played by Elden Henson) has been running wild.
Following a shocking moment in the first episode, which seemed to mark the end of the beloved character, fans are left wondering whether the end for Foggy is truly as final as it seems.
The episode in question sees Foggy’s apparent death, leaving fans to grapple with the sudden loss of one of Daredevil’s most important allies. However, given the long history of comic book resurrections and fake-outs, many are holding out hope that Foggy’s story isn’t over yet. A particularly popular fan theory is rooted in a storyline from the original comics, where Foggy Nelson fakes his own death after being attacked and enters witness protection, only to reappear later, much to the surprise of Matt Murdock.
Adding fuel to the fire is a subtle but intriguing detail: the new address for Matt and Foggy’s law firm, Nelson, Murdock, and Page, appears to be #468. Fans of the original comics will recognize that the issue where Foggy makes his unexpected return is also #468. Could this be a clue that Foggy is indeed coming back in some capacity?
Then there’s the matter of comments from Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s TV boss, who has hinted that Elden Henson will return in season two. Winderbaum emphasized that characters like Foggy and Karen Page are essential to Matt’s story, adding that he’s excited to see them back in the second season. This, of course, has fueled even more speculation, as fans continue to connect the dots between hints in the show and what could be coming in the future.
However, when asked directly about his character’s potential return, Elden Henson seemed to downplay the idea. Speaking at a recent convention, he admitted, “I don’t really know that much about it to be honest. When we started the show, the original one, I just didn’t have a lot of time to prepare, you know what I mean. So the answer is, I have no idea.” Elden even stated that he thought his character had been killed off for good, leaving him uncertain about any future developments.
While Elden’s statement could be genuine, it’s also possible he’s following in the footsteps of Andrew Garfield, who famously denied his role in the Spider-Man franchise before a major reveal. With Winderbaum’s earlier comments and fans holding onto hope, it’s clear that Foggy’s fate is far from settled.
As for when fans can expect the next season of Daredevil: Born Again, Disney has yet to announce a release date, but showrunner Dario Scardapane has confirmed that more episodes are expected to drop in March 2026. Until then, fans will continue to debate Foggy’s fate – and whether he’ll rise from the dead once again.
