Foldable iPhone Prototype Leaked: Apple’s Entry into the Foldable Market
A reliable industry insider has shared specs for this foldable iPhone, and while it will mark Apple’s long-awaited entry into the foldable phone space, it won’t be outpacing Samsung’s latest offering, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, due next month.

According to the leaked details, the foldable iPhone will feature a main display that measures 7.58 inches and boasts a resolution of 2713 x 1920 pixels. For comparison, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to have an 8.2-inch main screen with a resolution of around 2224 x 2488 pixels, though this is still unconfirmed.

Despite the smaller size and lower resolution, Apple plans to position the foldable iPhone as its new flagship model, replacing the Pro Max variants. This strategic move reflects Apple’s shift toward making foldable phones part of its mainstream lineup.

On the other hand, Samsung has been stepping up its game in the foldable market. After the Galaxy Z Fold 6 fell behind its competitors, the Fold 7 promises to be a major improvement. Samsung has been working hard to bridge the gap, not only with the Fold 7 but also by introducing a budget-friendly foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. A Flip 8 FE is expected next year, further strengthening Samsung’s position in the foldable market and creating tough competition for Apple.

However, Apple is known for its innovation, and the foldable iPhone could still have an edge. Reports suggest that Apple’s long wait for a foldable phone was due to its quest for an invisible crease, something that could give it a competitive advantage if successfully achieved. In comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 continues the trend of small batteries, with a 4,400 mAh battery and 25W wired charging speed, which may be seen as a weak spot for Samsung. If Apple can use a denser battery, it could provide a better performance edge in this department.

Though the foldable iPhone is still in its final stages of development, production is expected to kick off in the coming months. While the specs could change before launch, this is likely to be the final design and specifications.
