Recent reports have doubled down on rumors surrounding the upcoming Galaxy S25 FE, particularly its sleek, thinner design. The buzz is that the South Korean tech giant is focused on making the Galaxy S25 FE more compact and lightweight.

According to these rumors, Samsung plans to trim the thickness of the device from 8.0mm on the Galaxy S24 FE to just 7.4mm on the S25 FE, potentially by switching to a flexible OLED panel.

Unlike the rigid OLED panels traditionally used in the Fan Edition series, a flexible OLED panel would allow Samsung to make the phone slimmer while maintaining display quality. These flexible panels are typically thinner as they use plastic or thin foil substrates instead of the glass substrate found in standard OLED panels. It’s important to note that these flexible OLED panels are not the same as the foldable OLED screens used in the Galaxy Z series.

The shift to a thinner body could make a noticeable difference in weight and ergonomics, despite the modest 0.6mm reduction in thickness. The Galaxy S25 FE is also rumored to feature slimmed-down bezels, which would contribute to a more modern look. As for specs, we might see Android 16 with One UI 8, a 4,700mAh battery, and 45W fast charging, making this device a solid contender in the mid-range flagship category.

Samsung is likely to power the Galaxy S25 FE with the Exynos 2400 chipset, the same processor found in the Galaxy S24 series. While there’s no official confirmation yet, we expect the phone to launch around the same time as its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 FE, which debuted in September last year. This makes it a strong competitor in the affordable flagship market, going up against the likes of the Pixel 10, iPhone 16, and OnePlus 13.

Ultimately, if Samsung can balance the slim design with strong battery life and effective thermal management, the Galaxy S25 FE could become a top choice for those seeking a light, powerful phone that doesn’t sacrifice performance.

Wonder if they’ll add any new camera features… the S24 FE was pretty good, but could always use more!
