The Galaxy S25 Ultra has been getting a lot of attention recently, but not all of it is positive. One unexpected issue has emerged regarding the rear camera rings. While the design of these rings was meant to give the phone a bold and distinctive look, they may come with a hidden flaw. Unlike the previous generation Galaxy S24, which had a subtle ring design, the S25 Ultra features a thicker, more pronounced camera ring.
At first glance, these rings look gorgeous, but they might be more fragile than expected.
After the phone’s release, users started noticing that beneath these bold new camera rings were the old camera rings from the Galaxy S24. It turns out that Samsung glued the new rings over the old ones. Unfortunately, it seems the glue job may not have been as secure as it should have been, leading some users to report that the rings are peeling off. One user, @parthosarathi_b on X (formerly Twitter), shared that the ring on their Galaxy S25 Ultra camera simply fell off without any physical impact to the device. Given the premium price of $1,299 for the phone, this could be a major disappointment for buyers.
Although the user stated that the other camera rings are still intact, this could point to a quality control issue rather than a design flaw. Despite this, it’s still worrying for owners who might expect a phone at this price point to have better durability. After contacting a service center, the user found that replacement rings were not readily available, and they had to place an order and wait for them to be shipped in.
Additionally, the design of these camera rings had already raised concerns among tech enthusiasts. Popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything had predicted potential issues with this design, and now, some of those predictions appear to be coming true. While the peeling ring doesn’t render the phone unusable, it’s a frustrating problem for anyone who’s invested a significant amount of money into the device.
For now, it seems like this is an isolated case, with few users reporting the same issue. However, many have noted that the rings tend to collect dust, which could be another concern for users. Hopefully, Samsung will address these issues in the upcoming Galaxy S26 series to avoid similar complaints in the future.

A friend of mine’s Galaxy S25 Ultra has the same issue. He’s waiting for replacement parts. #SamsungFail
What a joke! I knew the design looked a bit too fragile. Not surprised. 👀
