Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra was briefly rumored to break past its usual charging limits with support for 65W wired charging. But new evidence from One UI 8 code suggests that won’t be the case.

Instead, the S26 Ultra looks set to top out at 60W fast charging, a modest bump from the current 45W standard but still shy of the rumored 65W.

Tipster Ice Universe has chimed in, backing the 60W figure with a screenshot from One UI 8, adding credibility to the leak. While 60W isn’t earth-shattering, it’s a notable upgrade-just not the leap some fans were hoping for.

The battery situation isn’t crystal clear either. Earlier speculation hinted at a 5,500 mAh battery, a 10% increase from the S25 Ultra. However, other sources now point to a repeat of the same 5,000 mAh battery as last year, with the slightly faster charging meant to offset the lack of capacity gains.

Ultimately, while Samsung seems to be making incremental improvements, the Galaxy S26 Ultra still trails behind Chinese rivals like Xiaomi and OnePlus when it comes to battery and charging tech. Those brands are pushing 100W+ charging speeds and larger batteries, leaving Samsung’s conservative upgrades looking a bit dated in comparison.

For Samsung loyalists, the S26 Ultra will still be a powerhouse in other ways, but when it comes to charging, it’s clear the brand is playing it safe yet again.
