Fresh leaks have surfaced showing off new renders of the much-anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7, and there’s plenty to talk about. These fresh images, released by OnLeaks and Android Headlines, give us an early glimpse at what the upcoming foldable phone might look like. From first glance, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 looks to be significantly thinner than its predecessor.

The current model, the Z Fold 6, has a thickness of 12.1mm when folded and 5.6mm unfolded. However, early leaks suggest that Samsung has managed to slim down the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to a mere 3.9mm when unfolded, shaving off a hefty 30% in thickness.

While a thinner device is generally a welcome change, there’s a catch. The rear cameras on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are now noticeably protruding, which may be a bit of a trade-off for the sleeker design. Additionally, Samsung seems to be taking cues from rivals like OnePlus and Google, as the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 appears to be wider than its predecessor. Leaks suggest that the new model could be more than 10mm wider than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, making it slightly bulkier in one dimension but thinner overall.

In terms of launch, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Watch 8 series on July 9th, with the event taking place in New York City. However, not all the news from the leaks is exciting

. One recent tweet from @PandaFlashPro shared a disappointing tidbit: sources claim the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will not feature an under-display camera (UDC), a feature that was seen in the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Samsung reportedly ditched the UDC due to poor image quality, opting instead for a punch-hole camera for the internal display.

The internal display is expected to be a 7-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1856 x 2160 and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The cover screen is anticipated to be 6.3 inches, with a 968 x 2376 resolution, also supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and being protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for durability. Under the hood, the Z Fold 7 will likely be powered by the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor.

As for the camera setup, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will sport a triple rear camera system, including a 50 MP primary sensor, a 12MP telephoto lens, and a 10 MP telephoto lens. The device is rumored to come with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and will run Android 15 out of the box. Keeping the device powered will be a 4400mAh battery, supporting 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Color options shown in the renders include a stylish “Blue Shadow” and a classic black.
