Just days ahead of Samsung’s Unpacked event on July 9, pricing leaks have surfaced for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.
The big takeaway? The Fold 7 is getting more expensive, while the Flip 7 will hold its current price point.
Foldables have always come at a premium, but this year, the book-style Galaxy Z Fold 7 could see a significant price hike. According to reputable leakers, the Fold 7 may cost up to INR 179,000 (~$2,087) in India – a sharp jump from the previous INR 149,999 (~$1,748)
. In France, all Fold 7 variants are reportedly going up by €100–€160 compared to last year’s model.
Although some sources claim the German price may stay unchanged, the broader consensus points to a global price bump. Samsung appears to justify the increase with major upgrades: a thinner and lighter chassis, larger inner and outer displays, and a powerful new 200MP main camera.
The Flip 7, in contrast, will reportedly start at the same $1,099.99 in the US. Despite that, it won’t be short on improvements – it’s expected to sport a thinner body, more expansive screens, and a larger battery. Interestingly, Samsung is also introducing a budget-friendly version dubbed the Flip 7 FE, expected to launch at €999 (~$1,172), making it a solid option for first-time foldable buyers.
With the Fold 6 having underperformed, some question the logic of raising prices again. While Samsung might see the hardware refinements as justification, consumers may feel the upgrades are overdue rather than worth a premium. Thankfully, the Flip 7 FE gives budget-conscious users a more accessible foldable experience.
Pre-orders are already open, offering early birds up to $1,200 in savings and a shot at a $5,000 Samsung Credit sweepstakes. Whether you’re team Fold or team Flip, now might be the best time to secure your next foldable.
