Ghost of Yotei State of Play: 20-Minute Gameplay Deep Dive Coming July 10, 2025

PlayStation has officially confirmed the highly anticipated Ghost of Yotei State of Play, and it’s happening this Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm BST / 11pm CEST. Fans of the Ghost of Tsushima franchise will get an exclusive 20-minute deep dive into the gameplay, with creative directors Nate Fox and Jason Connell from Sucker Punch leading the presentation.

Expect a showcase of new features, including fresh weapons, exciting ways to personalize your journey in the stunning world at the edge of Japan, new special modes, and more.

The excitement for Ghost of Yotei is palpable, especially with the game’s October 2, 2025, release date rapidly approaching. As the highly anticipated follow-up to 2019’s samurai masterpiece, Ghost of Tsushima, the game is poised to carry the weight of PlayStation’s first-party fall lineup, especially after the delay of Marathon and the lack of a new release date for it. At the moment, PlayStation’s upcoming slate primarily includes third-party releases, leaving Ghost of Yotei as a potential dominant title for the fall and winter.

Interestingly, with less than 100 days to go until its launch, there’s still the potential for more surprises from Sony. Astro Bot became last year’s Game of the Year (GOTY) winner at The Game Awards and was announced in the middle of the year. Fans are curious to see whether Sony has any more surprises in store for 2025, or if Ghost of Yotei will rule the end-of-year spotlight.
