Girard-Perregaux Laureato Infinite Grey Watch Review: Quiet Luxury with a Touch of Elegance

The Girard-Perregaux Laureato has never quite been the loudest contender in the integrated bracelet sports watch space, but it’s always maintained a loyal following with its understated charm. The latest model, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Infinite Grey, embraces this quiet sophistication even more with a refined dial treatment that elevates the line’s appeal.

Featuring a cool gray Grand Feu enamel dial, this watch exudes luxury without shouting for attention.

The Laureato Infinite Grey comes in a 42mm stainless steel case that feels just right on the wrist, especially for those familiar with the line’s proportions. While the 10.7mm thickness and overall size may seem large, it actually wears quite comfortably on a 6.75-inch wrist, thanks to the thoughtful design

. The simplicity of the case, with its mirror-polished chamfered sides and subtle integrated lugs, is balanced by impeccable finishing, including deep horizontal brushing on the top surfaces and sharp transitions between different elements.

The real star here is the new Grand Feu enamel dial. Rather than the typical clou de Paris guilloché pattern, the Infinite Grey opts for a flinqué dial with concentric rings interrupted by six rays extending from the center. This intricate texture, along with the translucent enamel, shifts from slate gray to silver, catching the light in stunning ways.

It’s not an overwhelming design, but rather one that’s quiet, understated, and rewarding to observe closely. The dial’s minimalism is further emphasized by flat-polished, rhodium-plated indices and hands that create a striking contrast against the dial.

Powering the watch is Girard-Perregaux’s reliable in-house GP01800-2524 movement, featuring a pink gold rotor and traditional finishing like Côtes de Genève and perlage. The 54-hour power reserve and 28,800 bph beat rate are solid but not revolutionary. What stands out here is the movement’s visual appeal, enhanced by intricate details like the concentric brushing on the rotor.

The integrated bracelet, a hallmark of the Laureato, is made of stainless steel with H-links that combine polished center links and angular brushed outer links. The bracelet is comfortable and well-balanced, with a hidden butterfly clasp for a seamless look. While it lacks micro-adjustability, the bracelet’s thoughtful design and the inclusion of half-links ensure a comfortable fit.

At $17,900 USD, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Infinite Grey is certainly not inexpensive, but it offers a refined and timeless design that’s likely to remain relevant for years to come. It’s a watch that doesn’t scream for attention but rewards those who appreciate the details.
