Google Keep Gets Fresh Look with More Material You Updates

Google Keep is getting a fresh new coat of paint as the app continues to evolve with Google’s Material Design 3 Expressive theme. While many users were hoping for password protection (sorry, not this time), there are still exciting visual tweaks that enhance the user experience.

In the latest version 5.25.282.00.90 of Google Keep for Android, users are beginning to notice subtle yet stylish upgrades. Though it hasn’t shown up on all devices just yet-including the Pixel 6 Pro running Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3-the server-side switch is slowly rolling out.

The refreshed design includes a chunkier, more prominent search bar that now features a hamburger menu on the left and a smarter search hint that initially says “Google Keep” before morphing into “Search Keep.” On the right, you’ll still find the button to toggle between single and multi-column views.

Further down, in the Notes section, UI buttons are now placed inside neat containers. The bottom-left corner buttons are enclosed, and the pin, reminder, and archive icons on the top-right are now nestled in stylish squircles, giving the whole app a modern, refined feel.

Despite the lack of some requested features, Google Keep remains a powerful tool across Android and iOS. Whether you’re jotting down ideas, setting reminders, recording meetings, snapping photos, or sketching out your next big creation, Keep remains a go-to app for both casual and power users alike.

And yes, if you’ve ever dreamed up a company logo mid-shower or composed a tune on your morning commute-Keep is still that trusty space to store those brain sparks instantly.

Google Keep is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for free download.
