Google has rolled out a surprise Pixel Drop today, previously known as the Pixel Feature Drop. These updates usually arrive every three months, and we weren’t expecting one until September.

Hence, the surprise! This update offers Pixel 9 Pro owners, as well as likely the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, a free one-year subscription to Google AI Pro, which includes access to Veo 3, Google’s AI-powered video creation tool.

Next up, Circle to Search has integrated AI Mode, enabling users to dive deeper into their searches with advanced reasoning. When Google’s systems detect that an AI response would be useful, an AI Overview will appear, allowing you to tap “dive deeper with AI Mode” for follow-up questions and explore relevant content across the web based on your search. This feature works automatically, enhancing your search experience.

AI Mode can now be accessed via Lens in the Google app for Android and iOS. However, this functionality is currently limited to users in the US and India. Circle to Search now also offers game-related tips, providing help when you get stuck, along with suggested videos to guide you through tricky spots. This feature is available in countries where AI Overviews are offered. Additionally, AI Overviews have been enhanced for better readability, with more visuals to break down key information.

Meanwhile, Google is bringing Gemini to Wear OS devices from Google, Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi. This will replace Google Assistant and bring advanced AI capabilities to your wrist. Gemini on Wear OS lets you speak naturally, understanding your speech patterns for quick and accurate responses. It works seamlessly across apps, enabling actions such as sending messages, creating playlists, summarizing emails, adding calendar events, and even navigating locations. You’ll need to enable action-taking in apps like Gmail and Calendar on your paired phone for full functionality. Gemini can also remember information you ask it to recall. The update is rolling out to Wear OS 4 and later devices over the coming weeks.
