Google has just dropped a major surprise for Pixel users with an unexpected Pixel Feature Drop, packed with exciting updates. One of the most talked-about new features is the integration of AI Mode with the popular Circle to Search feature.
This allows users to dive deeper into any items on their screen and ask follow-up questions, making the search experience even more interactive.
But that’s not all. Pixel 9 Pro owners are in for a treat as they receive a free year of Google AI Pro. This subscription unlocks the latest features via the Gemini app, including Veo 3. With Veo 3, you can bring your creative ideas to life by simply describing them, and the app will generate high-quality videos with natural sound. For example, when Google launched Veo 3 in the U.K., it demonstrated the tool by creating a video of a dog riding a motorcycle, a sea creature playing the bagpipes, and foxes riding a chicken pot pie on wheels. It’s a tool that can turn imagination into reality.
The Pixel Feature Drop also introduces Gemini to Wear OS watches, including not only Pixel Watches but also models from Samsung, OPPO, OnePlus, and Xiaomi. The update will roll out over the next few weeks for Wear OS 4 and newer devices. One of the standout features shown in Google’s promo video is the ability to ask Gemini to create a playlist based on specific requests, such as a playlist for a runner on a 9-minute mile pace. Additionally, Gemini can help you recall that restaurant your friend is always emailing about, all from your wrist.
This quarterly Pixel Feature Drop brings new functionalities that will enhance the experience for Pixel users. While many features are designed specifically for newer devices, some may be backward compatible with older Pixel phones. The last Pixel Drop was in June, and we can expect the next one in September.
