Hollow Knight Silksong fans, brace yourselves – the wait is almost over! After what feels like an eternity since its initial reveal, Team Cherry has confirmed that the highly anticipated indie game will be released this year.

That’s right, the long wait will finally come to an end in 2025, just in time for the holiday season.

The excitement around Hollow Knight Silksong has been palpable, with eager fans keeping a close eye on every update. Over the years, rumors and speculation have circled about a potential release date, especially with news that a playable version of the game will appear at an Australian museum this September. But now, Team Cherry has officially confirmed that the game will indeed launch this year.

The announcement came after the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 event, where the new ROG Xbox Ally handheld console was revealed. The reveal caused a bit of confusion among fans as much of the gameplay shown featured Hollow Knight Silksong, leading many to believe that the game would drop alongside the new device. Sarah Bond, Xbox president, fueled this fire by mentioning that Silksong would be available at launch on Game Pass when the Ally releases.

However, Team Cherry’s Matthew Griffon took to the studio’s official Discord to set the record straight. As Griffon clarified, the game’s release is not tied to the launch of any particular device. In his own words: “We are not tied to a console release.” Instead, fans can expect to see Silksong’s arrival sometime before the year’s end, with a specific release date to be revealed at a later date.

Though we don’t have an exact date just yet, it’s comforting to know that Silksong is indeed on track to make its much-anticipated debut in 2025.
