Honor Magic V5 Tipped to Feature 6,100 mAh Battery and Slimmer Fold Design
Honor is gearing up to launch the highly anticipated Magic V5, and early leaks suggest it’s aiming to push boundaries in both battery life and sleek design. The device, certified under the model number MHB-AN10 by CMIIT, is expected to house a typical 6,100 mAh battery-a nearly 20% boost compared to the Magic V3.
That’s a serious leap forward, considering the Magic V3 already had one of the largest battery packs among foldables.
Not only will the Magic V5 eclipse its predecessor, but it also appears to edge out competitors like the upcoming vivo X Fold5, rumored to have a 6,000 mAh battery. This makes the V5 a standout for power users who value battery longevity on foldables without sacrificing form factor.
The massive battery upgrade is credited to the use of Si/C (silicon-carbon) battery cells, which offer more energy density within the same volume. This is a rising trend among Chinese manufacturers aiming to deliver more juice without bulking up devices.
Despite the bigger battery, the Honor Magic V5 is rumored to be just under 9 mm when folded, a slight but meaningful improvement over the 9.2 mm thickness of the Magic V3. When unfolded, that would make each side a jaw-dropping ~4.5 mm-thinner than the iPhone Air, all while offering significantly more battery capacity.
However, not everyone is convinced that the battery bump is necessary. Some current V3 users report never fully draining their battery even with heavy use, suggesting camera improvements might have been a more welcome focus. Many users hope to see a better ultrawide and selfie camera on the V5.
Meanwhile, others are praising Honor’s consistent innovation, claiming to have switched from Samsung’s Galaxy Fold lineup due to Honor’s balanced approach to hardware, battery, and durability.
We’re still waiting for official confirmation from Honor regarding specs and launch details, but the Magic V5 is shaping up to be a true contender in the premium foldable market-blending big battery ambitions with a beautifully thin profile.

I’m still on the V3, never drained it in a day lol… tbh I’d rather they improve the ultrawide cam than add more mAh
More battery is nice, but still no IP68 or decent zoom? Meh, call me when it folds underwater too 😂
If they slap a better selfie cam on this I’m selling my kidney fr 💀📸
Imo the extra 100 mAh over vivo is kinda meaningless. Focus on software optimization instead pls
ok but how tf this thing thinner than my old iPhone and still has battery for 2 days?? 🤯
