Honor Magic V5 Goes Global with Sleek Design and Flagship Power

The Honor Magic V5 has officially stepped onto the global stage, making its debut in Malaysia with a launch price of MYR 6,999 (around $1,650). Following its Malaysian release, Honor’s sleek foldable is scheduled to hit Singapore next, and then expand to select markets across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

While the international variant maintains the premium hardware and sophisticated design of the Chinese version, it does come with a slight compromise-a 5,820mAh battery, which is 280mAh less than the domestic model.

Nonetheless, this ultra-slim foldable, measuring just 8.8mm when folded, still manages to impress.

Honor Malaysia is offering a compelling pre-order bundle valued at MYR 3,500, including a Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 9 Bluetooth speaker, extra device protection, a MYR 400 instant rebate, and trade-in options. This deal is available until July 24, the official sale date.

Under the hood, the Magic V5 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chip, delivering flagship-level performance. It sports a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and now boasts improved water and dust resistance with both IP58 and IP59 ratings.

In our hands-on and unboxing experience, the Magic V5 stood out for its premium build, refined hinge design, and tablet-like internal display. With a build that’s lighter and thinner than most of its competition, Honor continues to raise the bar for foldables, even if battery trade-offs might raise some eyebrows.
