Honor Magic V5 Unveiled: Slimmest Foldable Yet with Flagship Specs

Honor has officially revealed the sleek design of its upcoming foldable flagship, the Magic V5, ahead of its launch on July 2 in China.

The brand has confirmed that the device will measure just 8.8mm thick when folded, matching the dimensions of its non-foldable Magic 7 Pro and making it the thinnest foldable of its kind to date.

The press images show the Magic V5 in a premium gold finish, featuring a textured back and an elegantly engineered hinge. A large camera island dominates the rear, housing what is expected to be a triple camera setup-likely a wide, ultrawide, and a rumored 200MP periscope telephoto lens, though other leaks claim a 50+50+64MP combo.

According to recent speculation, the foldable will sport a massive 8-inch inner display alongside a 6.45-inch outer screen, promising immersive multitasking and media experiences. Inside, it’s expected to pack Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version chipset, coupled with a sizeable 6,100 mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging.

There’s still no confirmation on whether the Magic V5 will offer any IP rating for water or dust resistance, a feature still rare in foldables. If Honor delivers full IP68 protection, it could mark a significant leap ahead of many rivals in the foldable race.

Honor also released a teaser video, showing off the refined aesthetics and ultra-thin profile of the Magic V5-aiming to rival Samsung’s dominance in hinge quality while adding its own distinct design flair. With the competition heating up between Huawei, Oppo, and Samsung, Honor’s bold step forward makes the V5 one of the most anticipated foldables of the year.
