Honor has finally put an end to the rumors about the Magic V5’s telephoto camera with an official teaser that confirms a 64MP periscope telephoto unit.
This exciting development comes just ahead of the phone’s official unveiling on July 2 in China. Previous reports had conflicting claims, with some stating it would feature a 50MP camera while others speculated it would be a 64MP model. The teaser reveals that the Magic V5 will indeed come with a 64MP periscope telephoto camera, equipped with OIS and supporting telephoto macro photography.
The Magic V5 is also set to come with an impressive camera setup on the back. In addition to the 64MP periscope telephoto lens, the foldable phone will have a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera. On the front, there will be dual 20MP selfie cameras, ensuring sharp and vibrant selfies.
Honor has already revealed that the Magic V5 will be 8.8mm thick when folded, but full specifications are still under wraps. Rumors suggest it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, featuring a 7.95-inch folding display, a 6.45-inch cover screen, and a 6,100mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
While the camera system is undoubtedly impressive, some online discussions have been focused on the overall build quality of Honor’s foldables. While some users have criticized the hinge, comparing it to other foldables, others praise the sleekness and lightness of the device. The Magic V5 may not be the most rugged device on the market, but it promises to offer cutting-edge technology and a slim design that could make it a game-changer in the foldable space.
