Honor Magic8 Pro Rumored to Feature Quad Camera Setup With Dual Telephoto Lenses

The upcoming Honor Magic8 Pro is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing flagship releases this year.

According to the latest rumors from China, Honor is currently testing a version of the Magic8 Pro equipped with four rear cameras – a first for the brand’s non-folding series.

What’s exciting is the possible configuration. The rumored setup includes two telephoto lenses, a trend already seen in high-end models like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Oppo Find X8 Ultra, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. This move would be a major leap for Honor, which hasn’t previously embraced a quad-camera system with dual zoom lenses.

While specifics are still under wraps, earlier leaks suggested the Magic8 Pro might feature a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a powerful 200 MP periscope telephoto. If true, the addition of a fourth camera – potentially a short-range 50 MP 2x telephoto – would offer unparalleled versatility, filling a critical zoom range gap often ignored by other brands.

Enthusiasts have been vocal about other expectations too. Some are hoping Honor returns to a flat display design, which is more practical for screen protection and typing accuracy. Others don’t mind the curved screens, saying they add a premium feel to the device. Perhaps Honor will differentiate its Pro and rumored RSR models by offering both options.

Another wish from fans is a larger sensor – ideally a 1-inch type main sensor – for better low-light performance and natural image processing, especially with Honor’s sometimes aggressive sharpening.

Whatever the final configuration ends up being, it’s clear that Honor is aiming to play in the big leagues, offering camera hardware that competes with the very best in the Android world. And if the price remains competitive, the Magic8 Pro could be one of the most well-balanced flagships of the year.
