Honor is gearing up to unveil its new mid-range smartphone, the Honor Play 70 Plus, which has recently been certified in China under the model number LOG-AN00. As the successor to the Honor Play 60 Plus from last year, the Play 70 Plus is expected to be announced soon, almost a year after its predecessor’s release.

Honor Play 70 Plus Gets Certified with Huge Battery and Strong Features

The device features a 6.77-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720×1610, which is standard for mid-range phones, though some users may have expected more. The rear camera setup includes a 50 MP lens, while the front camera is a 5 MP shooter. A standout feature of the Honor Play 70 Plus is its massive 7,000 mAh battery, offering 45W fast wired charging. This is certainly a battery beast, but it may not quite match the expectations some had for an even larger capacity, such as 8,000 mAh.

In terms of performance, the Play 70 Plus is equipped with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and plenty of space for apps and media. The device also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, though some have raised questions about how this will work with the LCD screen.

Weighing in at 207g and measuring 166.89 x 76.8 x 8.39 mm, the Play 70 Plus feels substantial in the hand, but that’s to be expected given the sizable battery. It’s safe to say that Honor is positioning this as a solid option for those who prioritize battery life and performance in a mid-range device.
