The Honor X6c has officially launched as the latest budget-friendly addition to the Honor lineup.
Honor X6c Review: A 120Hz Display and Helio G81 Ultra for Budget Shoppers
Packed with a range of solid features, it offers a 120Hz LCD display, up to 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a large 5,300mAh battery with 35W fast charging. Despite being positioned as a budget model, the X6c offers a solid foundation for everyday tasks.

The 6.61-inch IPS LCD screen offers HD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, which ensures smooth scrolling and gaming experiences. The display is capable of reaching a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, making it usable even under direct sunlight. A punch-hole cutout houses a 5MP selfie camera. Additionally, the fingerprint scanner is conveniently placed on the power button for ease of access.

Powering the device is MediaTek’s Helio G81 Ultra chipset, paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, providing a versatile setup for most users. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, along with a secondary QVGA depth sensor for better portrait shots.

Running MagicOS 9 based on Android 15, the X6c also includes a dedicated AI button and retains the classic headphone jack, which is becoming increasingly rare in modern devices. Additionally, the phone is IP64 rated, ensuring some degree of water and dust resistance. It is available in three color variants: Ocean Cyan, Moonlight White, and Midnight Black, and is priced at RM 599 (approximately $141) in Malaysia.

Despite the solid specs, many critics are questioning the choice of the Helio G81 Ultra, as it doesn’t seem to offer much beyond a basic chip, which is common in lower-end models. The 120Hz refresh rate, while impressive on paper, may not deliver the smooth experience many expect from such a feature due to the limitations of the chipset. Additionally, the value proposition is undercut by competition from brands like Samsung and Poco, which offer better options at similar or lower price points.
