Honor is making waves again, this time with the upcoming Honor X70, which is set to feature an incredible 8,300mAh battery – one of the largest ever seen in a mainstream smartphone.
This follows last year’s Honor X60, which had a still-impressive 6,600mAh cell, but the X70 is clearly aiming to raise the bar in battery capacity and efficiency.
Leaked images from reliable source Experience More give us a detailed look at the device. The specs are solid for a mid-range phone: a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, running on MagicOS 9 right out of the box
. The screen is a large 6.79-inch OLED with a resolution of 1,200 x 2,640 pixels, perfect for media consumption – especially with that monster battery.
Honor retains its ‘Qinghai Lake’ battery branding and supports 80W wired charging. For those eyeing wireless charging, there’s good news – the 512GB variant is rumored to support 80W wireless charging as well, although it comes with a slightly bulkier body at 7.9mm and 199g versus the standard 7.7mm and 193g.
Camera-wise, the Honor X70 sports a circular module on the back housing a 50MP primary sensor with OIS. Up front, you’ll find an 8MP selfie camera. The white model was leaked, but Honor will also offer it in black, blue, and red.
Despite the enormous battery, Honor has managed to keep the phone impressively slim and light. It’s a noteworthy engineering achievement, and for many users, this kind of long-lasting power is exactly what’s been missing from modern smartphones.
While there’s no word yet on a release date or whether Pro or GT models will join the lineup – as they did with the X60 series – the X70 already has people talking. It’s a clear message to rivals like Samsung and Apple: the battery race is on, and Honor is sprinting ahead.
