Huawei is gearing up to join the elite club of smartphone brands offering more than 20GB of RAM in a single device.
While the flagship market is packed with devices that often feel like carbon copies in terms of specs, Huawei is looking to set itself apart with serious hardware muscle.
A leak from trusted source Digital Chat Station suggests that Huawei’s next high-end phone will include a whopping 20GB+ of RAM. If true, this would place Huawei among a rare group of companies – including Asus, Honor, Infinix, Nubia, OnePlus, Realme, and Xiaomi – that have already crossed the 20GB threshold. Notably absent from that list? Heavyweights like Apple, Samsung, and Motorola.
Huawei has already proven its hardware chops with recent models like the Mate X6, Pocket 2, and Pura 70 Pro+, all featuring 16GB of RAM. Its newly released Pura 80 series continues the trend, offering similarly impressive specs. But none of its current offerings break the 20GB mark – yet.
That’s about to change. According to the leak, Huawei is preparing a new flagship for late 2025, possibly part of the Mate 80 lineup. In addition to a RAM upgrade, this device will reportedly be powered by a new chip focused on better energy efficiency – a move that could deliver both speed and battery life in a single package.
If Huawei pulls this off, it won’t just be flexing its specs sheet. It’ll be sending a message: the brand is still a major innovator in the global smartphone game.
