Huawei Unveils M-Pencil Pro with Powerful Features for Creators

Huawei has officially launched its most advanced stylus yet – the M-Pencil Pro – during the debut of the MatePad Pro 12.2 (2025) in China.

Designed for creators and productivity lovers, the new stylus boasts impressive features and seamless integration with Huawei’s software ecosystem.

The M-Pencil Pro supports a remarkable 16,384 levels of pressure sensitivity, delivering exceptional precision for writing, sketching, and digital art. Its minimalist design is complemented by a new smart key that activates Huawei’s Celia voice assistant, allowing users to launch apps, manage their calendars, and issue commands with a single tap.

A standout feature is the double-tap near input fields that instantly enables voice-to-text transcription, simplifying note-taking and text entry. For artists, the stylus mimics the flow and feel of a real brush, especially during brush strokes and color blending, thanks to its rotating brush simulation.

The stylus includes three interchangeable tips – for painting, standard writing, and micro-writing – tailored to specific tasks. On Huawei’s creative apps like Go Paint and Huawei Notes, gestures like pinching the stylus allow users to toggle tools, switch colors, or activate the eraser with a double-tap. A light pinch outside apps brings up the global wave wheel for quick access to shorthand, annotations, and more.

Further enhancing the experience is tactile feedback from a built-in motor, and thanks to Huawei’s NearLink tech, the stylus can be located from up to 50 meters away – even between floors – if you’re using another Huawei device.

The M-Pencil Pro is currently available for pre-order at CNY 699 (around $97 or €82) via Huawei’s online store. It will officially release on August 8. There’s no word yet on international availability.
