Huawei Pura 80 Ultra Launches Worldwide with Amazing Camera and Features

Huawei has just made waves internationally with the launch of its Pura 80 series. After debuting in China last month, the Pura 80, 80 Pro, and 80 Ultra are now available globally, marking Huawei’s flagship offering for 2025.

Of these, the Pura 80 Ultra takes the spotlight with its innovative switchable telephoto lenses and impressive 1″ main sensor. The phone promises to be a powerhouse, especially in the camera department.

The Pura 80 Ultra is priced at AED5,100 in the UAE (around $1,400), while in Europe, it’s available for €1,500 with a 512/16GB configuration. The Pura 80 Pro, meanwhile, costs €1,099 with the same storage and 12GB RAM. Huawei has made the phones available in various regions, including Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, showing its intent to make the Pura 80 series a global product.

Huawei continues its innovation in camera technology with the Pura 80 Ultra’s periscope telephoto sensor, a 50MP powerhouse, attached to two lenses: a short 83mm f/2.4 (3.7x) telephoto lens and a 212mm f/3.6 (10x) lens, allowing for impressive zoom capabilities. This advanced lens system includes a micron-level motor that switches between the two zoom lenses, which, together, contain over 140 components. Check out a detailed teardown video to get a closer look at this intricate design.

The main 50MP camera is another showstopper, with a 1-inch type RYYB sensor, a variable aperture lens, and a dynamic range of 16 stops, making it a beast for photography. Accompanying it is a 40MP ultrawide shooter with a 13mm equivalent lens, providing plenty of versatility in shooting.

The Pura 80 Ultra also features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9020 chipset and paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. While the international model comes with a slightly smaller 5,170mAh battery compared to the 5,700mAh in the Chinese version, it still supports blazing-fast 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.

The Pura 80 and 80 Pro models come with slightly toned-down features. Both offer 6.6-inch and 6.8-inch LTPO OLED displays with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rates. The Pura 80 has a 50MP main shooter with an f/1.4-4.0 variable aperture, a 12MP 5x periscope lens, and a 13MP ultrawide lens. The Pura 80 Pro comes equipped with a 50MP main camera, a 93mm equivalent telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom, and a 40MP ultrawide lens. Both the Pura 80 and Pura 80 Pro have 5,170mAh batteries, with 66W wired charging. For more detailed insights, check out our Pura 80 and 80 Pro announcement coverage.
