The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is finally stepping out of China, and for photography enthusiasts, it’s a game-changer. This flagship device is packing one of the most advanced and innovative camera setups ever seen in a smartphone.
In fact, it’s a device that could make any photographer sit up and take notice.
After seeing the power of this camera firsthand, I can’t wait to get my hands on it and share my own pictures. For now, let’s dive into what makes the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra stand out.
The Pura 80 series debuted in China just under a month ago, and it consists of several models, including the base Huawei Pura 80, the Pura 80 Pro, and the Pura 80 Pro Plus. But it’s the Ultra model that’s getting the attention – and for good reason.
With its advanced camera system, the Pura 80 Ultra has a powerful 50 MP sensor (1-inch) with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.6 to f/4.0, allowing it to capture sharp, vivid photos even in low light. There’s also a 40 MP ultra-wide sensor and a multi-spectral Ultra Chroma Camera that ensures accurate and lifelike colors.
But what really sets the Pura 80 Ultra apart is its telephoto system. It features two distinct zoom lenses on a single sensor: a 3.7x zoom for portraits and street photography, and a 10x zoom for incredible close-ups. Huawei claims this is the largest telephoto sensor in the industry, and you can easily switch between the 3.7x and 10x zoom using the camera app, letting you capture distant subjects with ease.
This zoom system is innovative, but I do wonder if the 10x zoom might be overkill for everyday use. While it’s great for capturing distant scenes, there aren’t many situations where you need that kind of magnification. A 6x zoom might strike a better balance, but that’s just my opinion.
Other notable features of the Pura 80 Ultra include an AI Smart Controls Button for quick access to functions like the camera or flashlight, AI Noise Cancellation for better call quality, and a large 5,170 mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. The phone’s durability is also improved with second-generation Crystal Armor Kunlun Glass, which offers superior scratch and drop resistance.
Pricing and availability are yet to be announced, but this phone is already generating buzz. Stay tuned for more updates!
