Intel’s upcoming Big Battlemage GPU, the BMG-G31, is making waves with the latest support added to the Compute Runtime. Following the success of the BMG-G21 series, this bigger GPU is expected to offer even more power.
Recently spotted in the Intel Compute Runtime 25.27.34303.5, the BMG-G31 GPU is gaining momentum with new device IDs indicating that its development is moving forward.
The Intel BMG-G31 is rumored to come equipped with 32 Xe2 cores, a significant upgrade from its predecessor. This will bring the total VRAM to 16 GB, up from the Arc B580’s 12 GB. In terms of performance, the BMG-G31 is expected to compete with mid-range GPUs like the RTX 5060 Ti and RX 9060 XT, both positioned in the $350-$450 range.
For the $329-$349 price point, the BMG-G31 could offer strong performance without hitting enthusiast-level pricing. This could make it an attractive option for gamers looking for an affordable upgrade. However, the true test will be whether it can actually deliver performance similar to its competitors.
Intel’s BMG-G31 is expected to launch in late 2025, with some speculating that it could even push the boundaries of what we expect from Intel’s GPU lineup.
