KRAFTON has officially released an update for inZOI’s ModKit, a major step in expanding the game’s modding capabilities. Initially launched in early access just a few months ago, inZOI now offers players the chance to create and share custom content with the new ModKit update. Available for download through the Epic Games Store, the ModKit includes official plugins for popular 3D design tools like Maya and Blender, making it easier for users to design unique 3D assets for the game.

Once the mods are created, players can upload them to CurseForge, a modding platform managed by Overwolf, where others can freely download and share them. This move is part of KRAFTON’s plan to gradually roll out modding features in stages throughout the year. Following the ModKit’s release, players can now create mods for outfit sets, furniture, and game data with the new tools introduced in the update.

Looking ahead, in the September update, modders will gain the ability to modify character appearances, architectural elements, and interaction-based content. By December, the modding toolkit will further expand, enabling users to edit scripts and utilize localization tools to create even more varied and sophisticated content.

To celebrate the launch of the ModKit, KRAFTON has partnered with CurseForge to host two global contests. The ‘Next Top Modder’ hackathon will run from June 19 to August 1, offering modders a chance to win $11,000 and see their mods featured as official in-game content. Categories for the competition include Best Dress Set, Best Furniture Mod, Community Favorite, and Most Mods Submitted. Another exciting opportunity comes from a collaboration with CONNECT, the 3D fashion platform by CLO Virtual Fashion. The ‘Every Style Starts with You’ outfit design contest will run alongside the hackathon, with a total of $26,200 in prizes. The competition invites creators to design stylish outfits in several categories, including Ready-to-Wear, Fun & Playful Designs, and Conceptual Outfits inspired by fantasy.

CEO CH Kim emphasized that with the new ModKit update, KRAFTON is empowering players to shape the future of the inZOI narrative, with ongoing updates and future improvements based on community feedback. Though the team currently has no plans for Steam Workshop integration, they are open to revisiting the idea if there’s enough demand from the modding community.
