iOS 26 Beta 2: Apple Tweaks Liquid Glass Design and Adds New Features

Apple has rolled out the second beta of iOS 26 for developers, bringing several key adjustments to the user interface, particularly targeting the controversial Liquid Glass effect. The latest update tones down the intensity of the effect, aiming to improve legibility and user experience. One of the main changes is a more noticeable blur effect for the Control Center, which works in conjunction with the Liquid Glass design.

The background now features a darker shade, paired with increased blur, making the menu items and icons much easier to read.

Additionally, Apple has enhanced the Reduce Transparency setting in the Accessibility menu, further improving clarity for users who need it most. Safari has also seen a small, yet useful tweak- the “+” button to open new tabs has been repositioned to the bottom-left corner, now sitting comfortably next to the URL bar.

In another exciting update, the Wallet app now supports package tracking. Siri can scan your emails and automatically detect tracking numbers, making it easier to stay on top of deliveries. Apple has also expanded the App Store listings with a new Accessibility section, providing more resources for users with specific needs.

Along with these improvements, iOS 26 introduces a fresh ringtone called “Alt 1” and a new Live Radio widget in Apple Music. As the launch of the public beta approaches next month, Apple is gearing up for a final release later this fall. If you’re a developer or an early adopter, you can expect these features to become more polished with each update.
