iOS 26 is here, and it’s bringing a long-awaited feature that Android users have been enjoying for years. During Apple’s WWDC 2025 keynote, iOS 26 was unveiled with an impressive new redesign and several exciting updates.
Among them, one feature stands out-iPhone users will finally get to know how long it will take for their battery to fully charge, something Android phones have had for a while now.
This new feature applies to both wired and wireless charging, offering a clearer understanding of your charging progress. No more guessing if your phone is charging fast enough when you’re in a rush! Whether you’re using a regular charger or a Qi-based one with 5W power, iOS 26 will display an estimate of how much time is left until your battery is fully charged. If you’re using a slower charger, you’ll be informed, helping you manage your time better.
The new charging estimates will appear in the Battery section of the Settings app. While Apple hasn’t introduced a dedicated widget for this feature yet, there’s a good chance one will come in the future, as it seems incredibly useful. Additionally, iOS 26 will show the estimated charging time directly on your Lock Screen, just like MacBooks already do.
This feature is part of a larger update that includes a sleek new design, with Apple’s “Liquid Glass” aesthetic, along with updates to the Camera app, Phone app, Messages, Apple Music, and Apple Intelligence. And though iOS 26 will be officially rolled out this fall after the iPhone 17 series announcement, it’s already available for developers in beta. It’s a big update, and while it might be a bit late to the party compared to Android, it’s definitely a welcome addition to the iPhone experience.
