4 Big Fixes We Want in the iPhone 17 Pro Max

4 Big Fixes We Want in the iPhone 17 Pro Max

With the iPhone 17 series on the horizon and Apple’s annual September launch inching closer, expectations are soaring-especially for the top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max. While Apple’s biggest phone is always packed with premium features, it’s not flawless. Here are four key areas where the iPhone 17 Pro Max could finally step up and stop playing catch-up.

1. Where’s That Smarter Siri We Were Promised?

Remember Apple’s bold claims about contextual Siri? We do. Sadly, they’ve remained just that-claims. Despite the rollout of iOS 26 at WWDC 2025, there’s still no solid mention of a fully context-aware Siri. Meanwhile, AI assistants from competitors are racing ahead. If Apple wants to lead the AI race, the iPhone 17 Pro Max must deliver a truly intelligent, proactive Siri that can understand and act on user context.

2. Charging Speeds Still in the Slow Lane

It’s 2025. Why are we still dealing with slow charging iPhones? Even with rumors of a larger 5,000mAh battery, the iPhone 17 Pro Max might still struggle in the charging department. Apple doesn’t even list its charging speeds in official specs-probably for good reason. Testing showed the iPhone 16 Pro Max peaked at 38W in rare situations, while most Android rivals now boast 65W to 100W fast charging. Apple needs to ditch the outdated speeds or risk falling even further behind.

3. That Weight Is Getting Out of Hand

The iPhone 16 Pro Max already tips the scales at 227g, heavier than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra. If Apple adds a larger battery without slimming down the frame, the new model could feel more like a brick than a phone. There’s talk of switching to an aluminum frame to save weight, but that comes at the cost of durability. Apple must find a way to reduce the heft without compromising on build quality.

4. Spice Up the Colors, Please

Pro iPhones have long stuck with a muted palette-gray, white, black, and maybe a slight gold or blue. But the regular iPhones get all the fun shades. It’s time the Pro Max joined the party. Rumor has it an orange version may be on the way, which would be a welcome splash of personality. A few bold color choices could make the phone feel less corporate and more exciting.

With strong competition from devices like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and OnePlus 13, Apple needs more than just incremental upgrades. The iPhone 17 Pro Max has the chance to be a true leap forward-if it fixes these four nagging issues.
