According to a post by reliable leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, we now have a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming iPhone 17 models.

If you thought the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max boasted the slimmest bezels seen on any Apple device, you’d be correct. These models have set a new standard for iPhones, but they might not be alone for long

. Starting with the iPhone 17, even the non-Pro models will sport these super-thin bezels, making their debut across the entire iPhone 17 lineup. This means that the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will all feature the ultra-thin bezels.

Additionally, DCS revealed that the iPhone 17 models will feature a refreshed UI for the Dynamic Island, one of Apple’s most innovative design elements. Originally introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro series in 2022, the Dynamic Island has now become a staple of the iPhone lineup, appearing on both Pro and non-Pro iPhones in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series.

Earlier this year, DCS hinted at potential updates to the Dynamic Island interface, but details on what exactly those changes might be remain unclear. The Dynamic Island has drawn significant attention, including my own, since its launch, and many are curious about how it might evolve in future models.

In 2023, Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) founder Ross Young speculated that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max might eliminate the Dynamic Island in favor of an under-display Face ID, with a punch-hole cutout for FaceTime and selfie cameras. However, in 2024, Young revised his prediction, stating that under-display Face ID has been delayed until 2026, with the feature expected to debut on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

There has also been talk of Apple potentially shrinking the Dynamic Island. While Apple is still considering whether or not to reduce the size of this feature, it’s unclear whether they will introduce a smaller version of the Dynamic Island this year with the iPhone 17 or hold off until the iPhone 18 series.

What we do know for sure is that the iPhone 17 series will feature record-thin bezels across all models, along with a new user interface for the Dynamic Island. The iPhone 17 lineup is expected to be unveiled sometime around the week of September 8th, likely on September 9th or 10th, 2025.
