iPhone 18 to Feature Punch-Hole Display & Revolutionary Chip

The iPhone 18 may just be the first iPhone to feel truly modern compared to Android devices, thanks to a redesign that embraces some changes Android manufacturers adopted years ago. While the iPhone 17, which is expected to drop in September this year, will bring important improvements, it’s likely to be a more incremental update rather than a groundbreaking one.

But hold tight, next year’s iPhone 18 could change the game.

According to leaks from the reliable Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 18 Pro models will get a new front design. While the display sizes will remain similar-6.27 inches for the iPhone 18 Pro and 6.86 inches for the iPhone 18 Pro Max-Apple will reportedly move to a punch-hole display, something Android phone makers have already moved towards, abandoning notches for cleaner designs.

This change means the iPhone 18 Pro models will feature a small hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera, located in the top-left corner of the screen. Face ID, light, and proximity sensors are said to be hidden below the display. This redesign will increase the screen-to-body ratio, allowing more screen space to be used for content. While some may miss the iconic notch, Apple is playing it safe by avoiding an under-display front camera, which may negatively affect image quality

. Apple is reportedly planning to introduce a front-facing camera beneath the screen with their 2027 iPhone.

Besides the design changes, the iPhone 18 Pro is rumored to be powered by a chip built on the 2nm process, promising a significant leap in performance, efficiency, and battery life.

While the iPhone 18 is still over a year away, there’s still plenty of time for Apple to tweak its plans. For now, attention will likely shift towards the iPhone 17, which could see the first major design change in years.
