His death was the result of a long battle with cancer.

He loved his family, his friends, his work, and most of all, his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy to as many people as possible. We ask for privacy as we mourn and hope everyone who cherished him will continue to find joy in their own lives.”

Born on July 27, 1968, in Sydney, Australia, McMahon was the son of Billy McMahon, a former Prime Minister of Australia. Ironically, McMahon’s final role was portraying an Australian Prime Minister in the Netflix series The Residence.

McMahon began his career in Australian soap operas like Home and Away before making his way to Hollywood. He starred in early TV roles including Another World, Profiler, and had a notable three-season stint on Charmed, where he portrayed the iconic half-demon, Cole Turner.

His role as Dr. Christian Troy on Ryan Murphy’s Nip/Tuck earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Television Drama. McMahon also featured prominently in the CBS series FBI: Most Wanted and remained a fan favorite for his portrayal of Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four and its sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Throughout his career, McMahon became a beloved figure in the TV and film world, with his memorable portrayals of complex characters, and was admired for his passion and dedication to his craft.
