Lava Storm Play and Storm Lite Launched: Affordable 5G Powerhouses
These devices offer impressive features at budget-friendly prices, making them stand out in the highly competitive under-INR 10,000 smartphone market.

Lava Storm Play: First Impressions

The Lava Storm Play is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 SoC, which promises solid performance for budget-conscious users. Despite Lava’s claim of being the ‘world’s first’ to feature this chipset, it’s important to note that Motorola’s Moto G56, launched just last month, also uses the same chipset. Nonetheless, Lava’s announcement focuses on their device being the first to feature it in the under-INR 10k segment, particularly for the Indian market.

Running on Android 15, the Storm Play is free from ads and bloatware, offering a clean and efficient experience. The device features 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, making it suitable for multitasking and storage needs. The 6.75″ 120Hz HD+ display is great for smooth visuals, though the resolution may disappoint some users looking for Full HD quality.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Lava Storm Play is equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX752 primary camera and a 2MP secondary lens. For selfies, there’s an 8MP front-facing camera. A large 5,000 mAh battery ensures all-day usage, and the device supports 18W fast charging. Additional features include an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and two color options.

The Lava Storm Play will be available starting June 19 at a special launch price of INR 9,999 exclusively on Amazon India.

Lava Storm Lite: Affordable Yet Feature-Packed

On the other hand, the Lava Storm Lite is a more budget-friendly option. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400, it comes in two variants: 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB. Like the Storm Play, it runs Android 15, with the promise of one Android OS upgrade and two years of security updates.

Sharing similarities with its sibling, the Storm Lite also boasts a 6.75″ HD+ 120Hz display, a 50MP primary camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery. However, the Storm Lite charges at 15W, slower than the Storm Play’s 18W. Additionally, the front camera is a 5MP sensor, lower than the Storm Play’s 8MP selfie camera.

The Storm Lite will go on sale starting June 24 at a special price of INR 7,999 on Amazon India.

Conclusion: Affordable Powerhouses

Both the Lava Storm Play and Storm Lite offer competitive features for their price range, especially for those looking for an affordable 5G smartphone with reliable performance. With Lava’s strong presence in India, these devices could capture the market for budget-conscious users who want value without sacrificing essential features.
