LEGO fans and ’90s nostalgia lovers, rejoice! LEGO Ideas has officially announced the upcoming release of a highly anticipated set based on the cult sci-fi series, The X-Files. This exciting news follows the results of the ‘Build Your Nostalgia’ challenge, where fans submitted designs for sets celebrating the ’90s.
The winner, WetWired, created an incredible dual-vignette set that captures the essence of The X-Files in true LEGO style.
The set, titled The Truth Is Out There, features two key scenes from the iconic show: Mulder’s basement office, complete with all the little details, and a UFO scene set in a mysterious forest. With around 2,020 pieces, the set includes seven minifigures, making it an ideal addition for fans of both LEGO and the The X-Files series.
The X-Files debuted in 1993 and ran for 11 seasons, making it one of the most popular shows of the ’90s. The show follows FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) as they investigate paranormal occurrences, from aliens to unsolved mysteries. The show’s impact continues with fans still holding the belief that the truth is out there.
The set will be further developed by the LEGO Ideas team, and while some tweaks might be made, it’s sure to be a collector’s dream. With LEGO’s commitment to detailed designs and fan engagement, we can expect this set to remain true to the original concept while providing the intricate details fans crave.
This is a must-have for fans of both The X-Files and LEGO collectors alike, and we can’t wait to see it hit store shelves.
