Magic: The Gathering is embracing a whole new dimension with its upcoming Edge of Eternities set, blending science fiction with its established multiverse. Magic: The Gathering Goes Sci-Fi in Edge of Eternities – 9 New Cards to Explore
In this article, we’ll give you a sneak peek at nine exciting cards from this set.

New Cards to Explore
First up, two new cards from the Edge of Eternities main set: Broodguard Elite and Debris Field Crusher. These uncommon cards are tailored for the draft and sealed formats, so they may not dominate established formats like Standard or Commander. However, they introduce fresh gameplay elements that make them stand out.

Innovative New Mechanics
These cards are designed with two new mechanics in mind: Warp and Spacecrafts. Warp is a twist on the classic Evoke mechanic, allowing players to cast creatures at a reduced cost with the catch that they’ll be exiled at the end of the turn. This lets players take advantage of a creature’s abilities early before bringing it back later for another round. Spacecrafts, meanwhile, start as simple artifacts. Players need to tap creatures to ‘Station’ them on the craft, bringing it to life to attack or block.

Intergalactic Art: Stellar Sights
In addition to the new cards, the set also includes seven reprints from existing land cards, given a flashy new coat of intergalactic art. These cards aren’t part of the main Edge of Eternities set but are included in the Stellar Sights bonus sheet. These reprints can appear in any booster pack, but won’t be added to any new formats. Some even come in a rare “poster” variant with unique art, available exclusively in Collector Boosters.

A Bold New Adventure
Edge of Eternities marks Magic’s first true venture into science fiction within its own universe, offering a fresh mix of alien creatures, unknown planets, and mechanics that draw from classic sci-fi tropes. Whether you’re a long-time Magic fan or new to the game, this set provides an exciting new way to explore the multiverse.
