If you’re a fan of Mario Kart World, you probably know that unlocking new vehicles is part of the fun. There are 30 karts to unlock, each requiring 100 coins. That means you’ll need 3,000 coins to unlock them all.
While it’s not a monumental task, dedicated players are looking for ways to speed up the process and get their hands on all the karts faster.
One of the most popular methods for quickly unlocking karts involves the game’s Free Roam mode. In this mode, players can hunt down high-coin spots or even leave the game running AFK (away from keyboard) to let coins accumulate on their own. The process works by reloading the game, which causes coin stacks to respawn. For example, one spot near Boo Cinema offers a giant stack of coins that you can collect, reload the game, and repeat. This method has been confirmed by testing from IGN.
If you’re looking for a less hands-on approach, another popular AFK method involves parking near Toad Factory, right behind the conveyor belt that continuously spits out coins and item boxes. While it’s a slow process to collect coins this way, it’s an easy method to keep the game running in the background while doing other things.
For those who want to be a little more active, keep an eye out for coin cars in Free Roam. These vehicles drop coins as they drive, and you can collect them by following the cars at a relaxed pace. It’s a nice, chill way to farm coins between intense races.
After unlocking all 38 karts, players report still earning rewards like stickers for reaching milestones such as 18,000 coins. However, there’s no concrete reason yet to keep farming coins after hitting the 3,000 mark – unless you’re hoping for some secret golden kart, which remains elusive. While players have explored several hidden features like the Mirror Mode Free Roam, there’s still plenty to do in the game, including finding 394 P-Switches and discovering new secrets.
So, whether you’re grinding coins AFK or earning them through gameplay, there’s a lot of fun to be had in Mario Kart World.
