Marvel’s Blade Game Enters Full Production, Release Expected Between 2026-2027

It’s been a while since we’ve heard any news on Marvel’s Blade game, and the latest financial document from Arkane Lyon has given us a new clue about its development. The game was first announced during the 2023 Game Awards, with Arkane Lyon, known for its work on titles like Dishonored and Deathloop, taking the lead on this exciting project. At the time, we also learned that the game would run on Arkane’s proprietary Void Engine, the same technology used in Dishonored and Deathloop.

This sets the studio apart from many others, like CD Projekt RED and Crystal Dynamics, who have adopted Unreal Engine 5 for their own major projects.

But here’s the big news: according to a financial report from Arkane Lyon that surfaced recently, it seems like Marvel’s Blade has only just entered full production. This revelation comes from Timur222, a sharp-eyed gaming enthusiast, who uncovered the information in Arkane Lyon’s 2024 financial document, written in French. The document mentions that the production phase of the game began at the end of 2024, following the successful validation of the prototype.

As the only AAA game currently under development at Arkane Lyon, Marvel’s Blade is the studio’s biggest project. With Microsoft’s closure of the Austin-based sister studio last year, there’s no ambiguity about the focus of Arkane Lyon’s efforts. Given the usual timeline for AAA games and the fact that Deathloop launched in September 2021, we can expect Marvel’s Blade to hit shelves sometime between 2026 and 2027, with 2027 being the more likely release window.
