McFarlane Toys Unveils Elite Edition Figures: Doom Slayer & Lilith

In a special edition of IGN Live, McFarlane Toys’ Brian Walters, Director of Brand Creative, joined hosts Max Scoville and Brian Altano to discuss the company’s exciting upcoming figures, including the launch of their Elite Edition series.

This series kicks off with two iconic characters: Doom Slayer from Doom: The Dark Ages and Lilith from Diablo IV.

The Elite Edition aims to deliver highly detailed and decorated figures, bringing to life the most recognizable characters from video games in an unprecedented way. One standout feature of these figures is their use of soft goods, such as Doom Slayer’s fur cloak, as well as the introduction of new materials never before seen in McFarlane’s creations. Walters expressed excitement about the extensive accessories accompanying the Doom Slayer figure, including the Pulveriser, a flail, a combat shotgun, and a shield saw, calling it a “great first item” for the Elite Edition.

Although pre-orders for the Doom Slayer figure are already sold out, it will be available at retailers like Walmart and GameStop. Additionally, Walters teased that some fierce monsters might be on the horizon to battle Doom Slayer in future releases.

Meanwhile, Lilith, the first figure from Diablo IV in the Elite Edition, has just gone up for pre-order. The figure includes multiple interchangeable palace fates for various facial expressions, as well as articulated wings and a soft PVC tail, making it incredibly customizable. Walters emphasized the challenges involved in creating such an intricate figure, especially balancing the character’s design with its functionality as a toy. “The toughest part was the engineering – we didn’t want to compromise the character’s look,” he said.

Looking ahead, McFarlane Toys also teased a new Power Armor figure based on Fallout. Unlike previous Fallout figures from the Movie Maniacs line, this one will be the first articulated Power Armor figure. Fans can expect more surprises in the near future, as McFarlane continues to push the boundaries of collectible figures.
