MediaTek is turning up the heat in the flagship chip race. 
The upcoming Dimensity 9500 has surfaced on Geekbench, giving us a peek at what’s shaping up to be a powerhouse SoC with next-gen features. While some users initially questioned the specs, it’s important to note that engineering samples often clock lower than final versions, and that seems to be the case here too.
According to the listing, the Dimensity 9500 packs a tri-cluster CPU layout: a high-performance Travis X930 core clocked at 3.23 GHz, three Alto cores at 3.03 GHz, and four efficiency-focused Gelas cores at 2.23 GHz. For graphics, MediaTek is introducing the Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU, running at 1000 MHz, diverging from earlier rumors that hinted at an Immoralis-Drage GPU.
One standout feature-though yet to be fully confirmed-is the new NPU, reportedly capable of delivering a massive 100 TOPS (trillion operations per second), suggesting a serious boost in AI processing.
Interestingly, the chip may hit the market as early as September, potentially outpacing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in the race to dominate H2 2025 flagship smartphones. If MediaTek nails both performance and efficiency, the Dimensity 9500 could shake up the premium SoC landscape once again.
For now, we wait as more benchmark results surface-but all signs point to MediaTek bringing serious competition to the table.
