Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan’s thrilling crime drama, MobLand, has officially been renewed for a second season on Paramount+. If you’re one of the millions who can’t get enough of the show, this is great news! The show has garnered an impressive 26 million viewers since its March 30 debut, making its renewal a no-brainer.
Paramount+ has revealed that MobLand is now the second most-watched original series on the platform to date.
The series stars Tom Hardy as Harry Da Souza, a fixer working for Brosnan’s character, Conrad Harrigan, head of a powerful London crime family. Alongside Hardy and Brosnan, the cast features a stellar lineup, including Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine from House of the Dragon, and Joanne Froggatt from Downton Abbey.
Set against the gritty backdrop of London’s criminal underworld, the show explores the generational dynamics within the Harrigan crime family. The official synopsis explains that MobLand highlights the intricacies of gangster life, their business operations, and the complex relationships that drive their decisions.
With over 26 million viewers and counting, MobLand has become a massive success, both domestically and internationally. Paramount’s Chris McCarthy expressed his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated charts worldwide, even reaching #1 in the UK.”
The show currently holds a solid 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for its first season and is available for streaming. However, there’s no official word on when Season 2 will drop.
In an interview earlier this year, Hardy shared the physical toll his career has taken on him. After starring in intense roles like Venom, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Dark Knight Rises, Hardy revealed the injuries he’s sustained over the years, including two knee surgeries, a herniated disc, sciatica, and more. At 47, Hardy confessed, “It’s all falling apart now, and it’s not going to get better.”
MobLand is currently available for streaming, with a second season in the works. Fans are eagerly awaiting more of the gripping crime drama.
