Moto 360 Reboot: A Classic Smartwatch Makes a Stylish Return in 2025

Motorola is gearing up for a bold comeback in the smartwatch game by reviving the iconic Moto 360 in 2025. Leaked images reveal a sleek, modern redesign that pays tribute to its roots while stepping confidently into the future.

First introduced in 2014, the original Moto 360 made waves as the first circular Android Wear watch, even with its infamous ‘flat tire’ display. After a second-gen model in 2015 and a third-party relaunch in 2021 via eBuyNow, the line went quiet-until now.

This time, Motorola appears to be taking full control of the relaunch. The 2025 Moto 360 keeps the beloved round display but adds a stylish twist with a rotating crown at 2 o’clock and a secondary button at 4 o’clock. The brushed metal finish and flatter lugs offer a polished, premium look that echoes the design language of recent competitors like the OnePlus Watch 3.

Color enthusiasts will be pleased to know that five color variants are rumored, giving users more style flexibility. But the bigger mystery lies under the hood-will it run Google’s Wear OS, or Motorola’s own Moto Watch OS? Early leaks suggest a UI that mimics Wear OS, but an in-house RTOS may power it behind the scenes for better battery life and efficiency. A dual-OS approach is also on the table, allowing Motorola to blend the best of both worlds.

While an official release date hasn’t been confirmed, all signs point to a late 2025 launch. If Motorola nails the balance between design, performance, and software, the Moto 360 could carve out a solid niche among smartwatch fans craving that classic wristwatch aesthetic-with modern tech baked in.

With growing consumer interest in retro-inspired wearables like the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, Motorola’s strategic revival of the Moto 360 might just hit the sweet spot at the right time.
