MSI is shaking up the OLED monitor game with its newly launched EOTF Boost Mode, a feature designed to make visuals significantly brighter and clearer than standard HDR settings.
Built specifically for MSI’s OLED displays, this mode fine-tunes brightness by intelligently analyzing on-screen content, offering a noticeable boost in clarity whether you’re gaming, binge-watching, or creating content.
What makes EOTF Boost stand out is how it handles average picture level (APL) – even under the same conditions, it outperforms HDR1000 and HDR True Black 400 by delivering punchier brightness. For users who’ve felt let down by the dimness of traditional HDR modes, MSI’s proprietary enhancement brings a welcome glow to the experience.
In reviews by tech experts like MSI Monitors Unboxed, the improvement is obvious across the board. EOTF Boost adapts scenes in real-time, optimizing different zones of the screen for vivid highlights and deeper contrast. The tech is still evolving, but even in its current form, it’s considered a superior alternative to HDR1000.
This brightness-boosting magic is available right out of the box on select MSI OLED monitors including the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 and the upcoming MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50. MSI has also promised that support for previous OLED models is coming soon through a firmware update expected in August.
With EOTF Boost, MSI isn’t just tweaking display settings – it’s redefining how bright and brilliant OLED visuals can be.
