The excitement surrounding Naughty Dog’s upcoming game franchise, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, is building up as the development chief Neil Druckmann takes a break from the HBO series The Last of Us. Instead of focusing on the TV adaptation, Druckmann indulged in a custom LEGO set that caught his eye, one inspired by the futuristic spaceship from the game. The set, crafted by 2Bricks, a company known for its custom LEGO creations, features a sleek red starship modeled after the one seen in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

In a YouTube video, 2Bricks showed off the build of the 984-piece Tempest NDX ship, which was designed with input from the world of the game. The model caught the attention of none other than Neil Druckmann himself, who took to Instagram to share his excitement. He commented, ‘Had a great chat and got to nerd out showing off all the little details I included.’

For LEGO enthusiasts, the 1349-part set is available for purchase with detailed instructions on Rebrickable for just $10, offering fans a chance to create their own version of the iconic spaceship. Although the game itself won’t be available until 2027 at the earliest, Druckmann assures that the game is already in a playable state and described it as ‘really good’ during an interview at the The Last of Us Season 2 premiere.

As for Druckmann’s role at Naughty Dog, while he’s focused on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, he also revealed that there is another, unannounced project at Naughty Dog that he’s working on as a producer. ‘I’m more of a producer on that one, mentoring another team,’ he explained. ‘It’s exciting because I get to jump between roles and keep things fresh.’

Fans of The Last of Us will have to wait a bit longer for their next fix, but Druckmann’s enthusiasm for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is undeniable. With a star-studded cast featuring Tati Gabrielle and Kumail Nanjiani, the game is shaping up to be a major hit, even if the wait will be a long one.
